Introduction: the Emilia-Romagna Talent Act
Questions for interaction with the audience
The Regional Law 2/2023 of Emilia-Romagna establishes a comprehensive framework to attract, integrate and retain highly specialized talents. It simplifies administrative procedures and enhances welcome services in major cities, covering housing, healthcare, education and social integration.
The "Dreambig" initiative addresses the critical talent shortages faced by manufacturing SMEs by engaging students aged 15-17 through immersive placements and industry-aligned micro-modules, offering practical insights into careers in advanced manufacturing. Led by the ATIM cluster, this programme establishes a direct pathway for young people to enter the sector, aligning educational content with industry needs to effectively address the skills gap and enhance competitiveness. For policymakers, Dreambig presents a valuable model for bridging the gap between education and industry through close collaboration with local stakeholders, including schools, industry partners, and government bodies. Its success in inspiring students and securing future employment highlights its potential for transferability to other regions facing similar challenges.
