The Covenant of Mayors celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2018, marking the decade of activities by organising a Covenant Ceremony and Investment Forum in Brussels.
Since 2008, the Covenant of Mayors Ceremony has gathered the Covenant of Mayors Community for a political debate. Particular attention will be paid to the ways local governments develop integrated climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, transport or lighting, make greater use of renewable energy, and brace for climate hazards. Further efforts to scale up these achievements will be discussed.
In addition to contributing to the debate on EU energy and climate objectives, the participants can network with EU decision makers and stakeholders.
The political debate is complemented by the Covenant of Mayors Investment Forum - Energy Efficiency Finance Market Place, taking place a day before the Ceremony, on 21 February.
