CLEAR - Collection and Learning for Electronic Awareness and Recycling

The proposed pilot action concerns the implementation of sustainability and environmental projects aimed at experimenting innovative policies and technologies in the territorial context, understood as solutions for the management of WEEE, with particular reference to mobile phones, electric shavers, blenders, small battery-operated devices, hairdryers, video cameras. The proposed solutions concern the installation of boxes suitable for the collection and storage of electrical, electronic and electromagnetic waste. The boxes will be installed inside the schools of the municipalities in the Campobasso area and each municipality will take care of the collection itself. At the same time, a communication and awareness-raising campaign will be launched, especially in schools, to promote the importance of using the boxes for the collection and storage of electrical waste, in order to reduce the ecological impact, with a view to environmental sustainability. In addition, an itinerant WEEE collection action will be tested in the municipality of Campobasso using a container owned by the municipality. This will be a travelling ecological island available to all citizens of Campobasso, supervised by a municipal operator. This solution avoids the abandonment of waste on the municipal territory and consequently facilitates waste recovery.

In summary, the pilot action provides for:

- installation of no. 25 WEEE collection bins in municipal public schools;
- itinerant eco-island within the urban area of the Municipality of Campobasso;
- awareness-raising campaign in schools on the collection and recycling of WEEE.
