Project summary
Europe is again the target of a large number of immigrants, in 2022 especially in the course of the high influx of refugees from Ukraine and elsewhere. At the same time, many European regions experience an increasing shortage of workforce in general and skilled workers in particular in sectors like IT, healthcare and STEM. A fast, adequate and sustainable access of migrants to labour is thus essential so that European societies can benefit from competences, capacity and ambitions of newcomers.
In order to foster the effective inclusion of migrants and EU citizens with a migrant background into the labour market the project focuses on the active collaboration of a variety of actors including public authorities -like regional ministries of social affairs, labour and education from 6 EU countries-, local, regional, national and EU stakeholders -like small municipalities (ie Mark/Sweden), big cities (Stuttgart/Germany, Firenze/Italy, Timisoara/Romania), national agencies (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge/Germany, ADR/Romania), schools, civil society organisations, labour market services, economic and social partners, and employers-. The project aims at developing and consolidating policies and practices for a fast-track labour market integration of immigrants and NEETs in different EU territories. Integration in the project is meant as a process involving a) regional and local authorities, b) host communities and c) newcomers. Exchange of practices concern:
· Making available guidance, education and learning opportunities for all
· Achieving a long-lasting integration into the labour market
· Supporting active citizenship especially in rural areas.
The project uses the methodology of the ‘institutional learning process’, facilitated by multi/bilateral meetings among project institutions and stakeholders where interactive and dialogic actions are taken for mutual learning purposes. It will support development, pilot, scientific evaluation, transfer processes.
